Role of Vitamin B6, signs ,symptoms and its deficiency in human body

 

Introduction

Vitamin B6 is generally called pyridoxine. It belongs to vitamin B complex and its a water soluble vitamin that can dissolve in water.

Due to its water solubility it can't store in human body like other vitamins therefore it can obtain by the body from diet. It is important for red blood cell formation, nervous system function, energy production and protein metabolism.

It was discovered in 1930 by scientists during nutrition deficiency disease. It exists in three form

★ Phridoxine

★ Pyridoxamine

★ Pyridoxal

Inside the human body  these three form of vitamin B6 converted into pyridoxal phosphate (PLP) and it works as a coenzyme.

Function of Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 play vital role in the ★production of Red blood cell formation

★It acts as a coenzyme for the production of heme which is a main part of hemoglobin that contain iron

*Pregnant women= 1.9 mg

*Breastfeeding women= 2.0 mg

*Infants =0.1 – 0.3 mg

*Children= 0.5 – 1 mg

*Adults= 1.3 – 1.7 mg


What are the Signs and symptoms of vitamin B6 deficiency?

Deficiency of vitamin B6  is rare but in some.  case like

*Choronic alcoholism 

*Kidney disease 

*Poor diet

*Malnutrition 

*Certain medication

*Weakness 

*Depression

*Irritability

*Crack lips

*Skin disorder

*Nerve problem

*Mouth source

*Seizure

It happens due to lack of the production of  nurotransmitter 

*Pheripheral neurophathy

*Anemia

 When vitamin B6 taken in high amount  for long period of time then it cause several problem such as
